Daniel o'Donnell will be sparing time-out from his packed performance schedule to launch the 'Friends of Irish in Birmingham Direct Giving Scheme'. The launch will be held at The Paragon Hotel on June 24th 2012, where he will greet the guests to encourage them to sign up to the wonderful Friend's Scheme.

Tuesday 24^th April 2012 from 6.00pm to 9.00pm

There will be canapés & bucks fizz on arrival, hotel wedding packages on offer and exhibitors to include flowers, venue dressing, cakes, entertainment, photography, bridal wear & more.

123 Laurence's Everest Trip

On the 31^st March our Finance Director, Laurence Clark, will be embarking on a journey to climb the highest mountain in the world - Everest! The trip will take 2 months, with Laurence hoping to reach the summit around the 15^th May. He is raising funds for the Anthony Nolan Trust which has been in existence for around 40 years and is involved in Leukaemia Research and Bone Marrow Transplants. His aim is to raise £20,000.

123 St Patrick's Festival Birmingham 2012

Birmingham's St Patricks day celebration is the largest parade outside of America!

St Patrick's Festival in Birmingham which spans from the Friday before the Sunday of the parade until St Patricks Day and beyond, hosts a variety of events and celebrates the many features of our rich Irish culture, customs and heritage...and this year is no different!

The Paragon's location within the Irish quarter and its rich history as lodgings for Irish immigrants when the building was first built at the turn of the 20th Century, means The Paragon is the place to stay for this wonderful festival. The Paragon is also hosting the launch party, putting on the best Birmingham has to offer in terms of Traditional Irish Music and Irish Dancers and hosting a buffet to make sure that everyones' bellies are full in preparation for partying all night long.

On Saturday 12th March The Reel on Edgbaston Street will be celebrating the tradition of 'Dances at The Crossroads' from rural Ireland. While The Limerick Association will be hosting a fundraising dance.

On Sunday 13th March, Parade Day, there will be Mass at 10am at St Anne's Church, followed at noon with the spectacular release of thousands of balloons from the fundraising BALLOON RACE. Details about tickets here.

The parade will be lead by 'THE WALK OF CHAMPIONS'. Seven incredible Irish dancing champions will be the flag bearers, followed by:

A display by school children carrying the flags of the 32 Irish counties
an impressive array of magnificent floats
Traditional marching bands
Fantastic walking groups
Wonderful classic tractors and cars as well as a steam engine
Displays of dancing and music
Groups from the Polish, Chinese and Indian communities will also be taking part.

At 2pm, the parade ends with the spectacular Massed Band Display.

Please note National Express provide 'The Shamrock Bus' for those unable to walk in the Parade. Apply for free tickets.
