How AI Tooling Is Used on This Site, and Where It Is Not
The photographs on this Birmingham guide
Every image at the head of a page is a photograph taken by a person, used under the licence named beside it and credited again in full on the picture credits page.
None of them was generated, and none has been altered in any way that changes what it shows the reader.
They were resized and cropped to fit the page, which every licence used here permits, and nothing else was done to them.
No object was added or removed, no sign or scoreboard was changed, and no two photographs were merged, so nothing in any picture is other than it was.
That is why no picture on this site carries an AI label. The labelling duty under current European rules applies to synthetic or manipulated images that a reader might reasonably take for authentic, and a licensed photograph of a real building in the city is simply authentic to begin with.
A record is kept for every image regardless, noting the source, whether it is a photograph or something generated, whether a label was due and the reason. That record is maintained whether or not a label turned out to be required, so the decision can be checked afterwards rather than assumed.
How the writing is produced
Text on this site is drafted with AI assistance and then edited and fact-checked before it is published.
Figures such as capacities, opening arrangements and charges are taken from the venue, the club or the council, and the source for each of them is named on the page that quotes it.
Where a claim could not be confirmed against a source, it is left out rather than estimated, and where two sources disagree the page says so. Dates on the venue pages record when the details were last checked, which is the part of any such page that ages fastest and matters most.
The site mark and the diagrams
The mark used in the masthead and as the site icon is hand-drawn vector artwork, not generated, and the same is true of every diagram and chart.
Those are drawn directly in code from the figures they represent, so they carry no generative provenance of any kind at all attached to them.
